Abe was an alien from planet Zebulon. He came to spread his love of Lincoln Logs across the galaxy. Poor Lincoln, dying before his beloved building toys made their first Earth appearance.

Very emotional response TJ, those were the days.

Yes, it was very deep. Like the waters the Norther Pike live in.

O Captain My Captain
by Walt Whitman

O Captain my Captain! our fearful trip is done,
The ship has weathered every rack, the prize we sought is won,
The port is near, the bells I hear, the people all exulting,
While follow eyes the steady keel, the vessel grim and daring;
But O heart! heart! heart!
O the bleeding drops of red,
Where on the deck my Captain lies,
Fallen cold and dead.

O Captain! my Captain! rise up and hear the bells;
Rise up--for you the flag is flung for you the bugle trills,
For you bouquets and ribboned wreaths for you the shores a-crowding,
For you they call, the swaying mass, their eager faces turning;
Here Captain! dear father!
This arm beneath your head!
It is some dream that on the deck,
You've fallen cold and dead.

My Captain does not answer, his lips are pale and still;
My father does not feel my arm, he has no pulse nor will;
The ship is anchored safe and sound, its voyage closed and done;
From fearful trip the victor ship comes in with object won;
Exult O shores, and ring O bells!
But I, with mournful tread,
Walk the deck my Captain lies,
Fallen cold and dead.

Abraham Lincoln, Born February 12, 1806
By Walt Whitman

To-day, from each and all, a breath of prayer—a pulse of thought,
To memory of Him—to birth of Him.

-----------------

This Dust Was Once The Man
By Walt Whitman

This dust was once the Man,
Gentle, plain, just and resolute—under whose cautious hand,
Against the foulest crime in history known in any land or age,
Was saved the Union of These States.

---------------------------

Hush'd Be the Camps To-Day
By Walt Whitman

1

Hush’d be the camps to-day;
And, soldiers, let us drape our war-worn weapons;
And each with musing soul retire, to celebrate,
Our dear commander’s death.

No more for him life’s stormy conflicts;
Nor victory, nor defeat—no more time’s dark events,
Charging like ceaseless clouds across the sky.

2

But sing, poet, in our name;
Sing of the love we bore him—because you, dweller in camps, know it truly.

As they invault the coffin there;
Sing—as they close the doors of earth upon him—one verse,
For the heavy hearts of soldiers.

(I guess Walt Whitman really liked Lincoln)

SOME FUN FACTS:

--Abraham Lincoln's turkey's name was Jack.

--Lincoln's mother died after drinking milk from the family cow that ate posionous mushrooms.

--A week before he was assassinated, Abe dreamt that he had died.

--Abe Lincoln had nothing to do with this: http://youtube.com/watch?v=IOyEw9bT8yQ

The poisonous mushrooms didn't kill her. She's from Zebulon! Poison doesn't affect her! What she didn't know was that all Zebulonians are lactose intolerant, so bad that if they consume dairy their hearts explode! Get your facts right. Geez! And Abe Lincoln has everything to do with Bohemian Rhapsody. Lincoln's from ZEBULON and Freddy MERCURY? Notice a connection? Lincoln was obviously reincarnated as Freddy, in order to further liberate his African American friends, through the power of ROCK!

p.s. Zebulon is the first planet in it's solar system.

TJ, that would go under the myth section of Lincoln's life. Zebulon is the name of a small town in North Carolina. (And also a bar in San Francisco. Yeah, go Google.)

Abe doesn't look like Mr. Slack anymore.
